Assurance enquiries
SWANK AI accepts enquiries by email only.
Engagements are:
- independently scoped;
- defined in writing;
- evidence-oriented;
- operationally bounded;
- documented;
- non-certifying.
No substantive work begins until the scope, deliverable, timeframe and fee have been agreed.
Begin an Enquiry
Please email:
To help us assess the proposed engagement, please include:
- the organisation, institution or system concerned;
- a brief description of the issue or AI use;
- the specific question requiring independent review;
- the type of engagement you believe may be appropriate;
- the principal evidence or documentation available;
- approximate documentation volume, where relevant;
- any material deadline or time constraint;
- the intended purpose of the review.
A concise initial enquiry is sufficient.
Supporting documents do not need to be sent until requested.
Choosing an Engagement
SWANK AI’s principal assurance services are:
Short-Form Operational Review
For one clearly defined institutional or AI-governance question.
Communication & Feedback Systems Review
For questions concerning evidence, communication, correction, escalation, challenge and institutional feedback pathways.
Full Institutional AI Assurance Review
For a comprehensive assessment of a defined organisational AI system, programme, policy or use environment using all seven SIAAF domains.
If you are unsure which level is appropriate, describe the question requiring review.
The appropriate scope can be determined from the enquiry.
What Happens Next
01 — Enquiry Review
SWANK AI considers whether:
- the question is sufficiently defined;
- the proposed work falls within SWANK AI’s analytical remit;
- meaningful independent review is possible;
- the available evidence is likely to support the proposed analysis;
- any apparent independence or scope issues need to be addressed.
Further information may be requested before an engagement is proposed.
02 — Scope Definition
If the matter is suitable, the proposed scope is documented in writing.
This may identify:
- the assurance question;
- relevant system or process;
- applicable SIAAF domains;
- timeframe;
- evidence expected;
- exclusions and limitations;
- intended deliverable;
- completion timeframe;
- fee.
No substantive assurance work begins before scope is confirmed.
03 — Engagement Confirmation
Once scope is agreed:
- engagement terms are confirmed;
- an invoice is issued through SWANK London LLC;
- evidence-transfer arrangements are agreed where necessary;
- relevant documentation is provided;
- substantive review begins.
04 — Independent Analysis
Depending upon scope, review may include:
- evidence intake;
- evidence mapping;
- institutional systems analysis;
- application of relevant SIAAF domains;
- challenge analysis;
- identification of evidence limitations;
- structured findings;
- proportionate recommendations.
The commissioning organisation defines the question.
It does not define the analytical answer.
05 — Written Deliverable
Findings are delivered through structured written documentation appropriate to the engagement.
A substantial SIAAF report may include:
- Executive Assurance Summary;
- Scope;
- Methodology;
- Evidence Base;
- Evidence Limitations;
- Institutional Systems Map;
- Findings;
- Domain Assessment;
- Material Risks;
- Recommendations;
- Unresolved Questions;
- Evidence Appendix.
What To Expect
Clients can expect:
- clear scope boundaries;
- written engagement terms;
- evidence-oriented analysis;
- visible limitations and uncertainty;
- separation between fact and inference;
- independent challenge of apparent conclusions;
- proportionate recommendations;
- a defined written deliverable;
- a clear completion point.
The objective is not to produce the largest possible review.
It is to answer the agreed question with sufficient analytical depth and evidential discipline.
Confidentiality & Information Handling
Information should be provided only where relevant to the agreed scope.
SWANK AI does not require unnecessary personal, confidential or sensitive information merely because it exists.
Where an engagement involves:
- confidential information;
- personal data;
- sensitive material;
- restricted records;
- commercially sensitive information;
appropriate handling arrangements may be agreed before transfer.
Clients remain responsible for ensuring that materials are lawfully supplied.
Independence
SWANK AI maintains analytical independence throughout every engagement.
Our work is not conducted to support predetermined:
- commercial outcomes;
- institutional narratives;
- political positions;
- vendor interests;
- reputational objectives;
- or preferred findings.
Clients may provide evidence and correct factual inaccuracies.
They do not receive editorial control over independent analytical conclusions.

Suitable Enquiries
SWANK AI may be appropriate where an organisation needs independent analysis concerning:
- AI governance;
- accountability;
- meaningful human oversight;
- evidence and source traceability;
- communication and feedback;
- escalation and contestability;
- AI-assisted decision systems;
- AI summarisation;
- triage and prioritisation;
- institutional correction pathways;
- incident response;
- operational resilience;
- AI literacy;
- high-stakes AI use;

When SWANK AI May Not Be Suitable
SWANK AI may not be appropriate where the requested objective is:
- a predetermined conclusion;
- legal advice;
- regulatory approval;
- statutory certification;
- ISO certification;
- compliance sign-off;
- public-relations positioning;
- marketing endorsement;
- automated credibility or risk determination;
- open-ended operational management;
- validation of unsupported claims;
- guaranteed outcomes.
Independent assurance requires a defined question, an appropriate evidence base and freedom to reach the conclusion supported by that evidence.
Initial Enquiries Are Not Substantive Reviews
SWANK AI does not provide free substantive consultations through the enquiry process.
Initial correspondence is used to:
- understand the question;
- assess suitability;
- determine potential scope;
- identify necessary evidence;
- and establish whether an engagement can be proposed.
Analytical findings or recommendations are provided only within an agreed engagement.
